What is Season of Compassion?

Celebration Baptist Church seeks to serve the needs of hundreds of families through our Season of Compassion ministry. During November and December, we seek to exemplify and share the love of Christ by meeting hunger, financial, and other physical needs of some of the more vulnerable families in our communities and around our region.

As we near the end of 2020 and reflect on the goodness and faithfulness of God in Christ, and as we gather with family and friends to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas, may we be mindful of how many around us have been negatively affected this year and have tremendous family needs. We ask you to prayerfully and intentionally engage serving the vulnerable through our Season of Compassion by praying, giving, and serving. We have several opportunities for you, your family, and your Group to serve through the Season of Compassion as outlined below.
Your donations will help purchase turkeys and fresh pies for Thanksgiving, Christmas gifts for children in need, and support our year-round benevolence ministry.

Gifts for Kids

Two babies in foster care with the gifts they received from the Celebration family as part of Gifts for Kids in 2018.
Gifts for Kids is an opportunity to bring a little bit of happiness to a child in need. You get to pick a tag with a gift description for a child (several price ranges available). You then purchase the requested gift, wrap it and return it to Celebration. The gifts are then distributed to the families, letting these children experience a Christmas gift that they would not otherwise- all done in the name of Christ!

One More Child, jails in a couple  of counties and other organizations have given us a list of 325 children that are waiting for us as a church to give and bless. Sign up today on the runway and help a child better understand the true reason for the season.

This year’s Women’s Christmas Brunch will be Saturday, December 12. The doors will open at 10:00am, in the gym. Tables will seat 4 each to allow for social distancing. Individually packaged brunch provided. Childcare is available with a reservation.

This year’s speaker is Gretchen Fleming sharing on how to have joy when life is uncertain or disagreeable. 2020 has required so much perseverance! It can be tempting to think that when life requires this much perseverance we're unlikely to find joy but God has promised us a joy that surpasses understanding.
