And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people.

September 2017

Dear CBK Parents,

Today (Sept 1) we are super excited to have our first Friday Pizza of our new school year! We are tremendously blessed that Michael & Alicia Holmes, owners of Uncle Maddio’s Pizza, have supported CBK for the last few years by partnering with us in providing healthy and delicious pizza for our children.

As we enter into our twentieth year of ministry, we consider it a very special privilege to love, care and teach Jesus to about one hundred-thirty precious children here at Celebration Baptist Kinderschool. Parents have entrusted us with their most prized possession and we consider ourselves to be completely blessed.

Our God-given mission is to Connect with God and Others. Our goal is to minister to each and every child and family by trying to meet their individual needs and to make strong connections with them. We hope and pray that they are sensing God’s great love and presence when they walk through the doors each morning. The first two weeks are a time of helping the one- and two-year-olds to adjust to a new school, new teachers, new friends and a new classroom. We are just now really settling into a new routine and we are thankful that God has given us much success through prayer and many wonderful teachers.

One very exciting addition to our space is the new children’s rooms upstairs. We are able to use the space to serve about twenty children in Before School Care by providing centers and manipulatives. Then we use the elevator to bring them downstairs to the classrooms. The transition has been seamless!

Here are our upcoming September events:

  • September 3, 11:30am, CBC event- Families with Preschoolers Community Gathering (lunch included)
  • September 4- No School ~ Labor Day
  • September 6 & 7- Individual Student Pictures by Nicole Myhre
  • September 8, 9:00-10:00am- Grandparent Appreciation Day in Broom Tree Café
  • September 10, 11:30am, CBC event- Families with Children Community Gathering (lunch included)
  • September 29- No School ~ Leon County School Fall Holiday

On Friday, September 8th 9:00-10:00, we want to recognize and thank all our wonderful grandparents. Last year we began to notice that so many grandparents drop off and pick up their grandchildren every day. We know that if our families did not have extended family to assist them, they would not be able to attend CBK because we are a part-time preschool. Upon arrival, you will find two photo booths set up in the Broom Tree Café so that grandparents can take pictures with their grandchildren. We will develop the pictures and give them out on the following week. After you have your photo taken, you may walk your grandchild(ren) to their classrooms. Then please come to the Broom Tree Café for a light breakfast as well as a time to connect with other grandparents. For this event, there is no formal presentation. It is a time of fellowship and connection.

We are looking forward to all that God has in store for us in this new school year and the opportunity to share God’s work and goodness in and through this ministry.

Many blessings,
Pam Lueck
CBK Director

About CBK

Celebration Baptist Kinderschool uses "WEE Learn" which stands for Weekday Early Education. This Christian material uses preschool centers to promote the child's development in all areas. The purpose of this guide is to provide a framework on which teachers can build an early childhood program that allows children to grow and develop as Jesus did... "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature; and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52) We use an additional curriculum called ABC Jesus Loves me. Parents and teachers may also join their page on Facebook as well as utilize their webpage for additional resources. The curriculum for the Kindergarten program is multi-faceted. The ABeka curriculum is used to teach Reading, Phonics, Social Studies, Handwriting, and Science. The math curriculum we use is Saxon Math. A computer lab with age appropriate computer software also enhances the curriculum.

Chapel Time

Chapel Time is provided for the four and five year olds and is located in the Broom Tree Cafe on Mondays with our Children's Pastor Tommy Hendricks. We learn Bible stories that relate to the monthly themes being taught in each classroom as well as our Sunday school curriculum. We sing praise songs while "signing' them and we learn to pray together. This is a special time for everyone. Parents are always welcome to join us at 12:10 in the Broom Tree Café.

Music, Movement, and Media

Every week the three, four and five year olds will have Special Area. This is where the children will participate in extracurricular activities like Bible, Art and Science, Music and Movement, Physical Education and Library/Media. Music is a great teaching tool for children. All the classes will use music as a learning tool. During the Special Area time, the teacher will be using instruments, CDs and other fun ways to appreciate music. For all other ages, music time will be incorporated into their classroom schedule. Each class will use movement as a gross motor learning tool. Also during Special Area, the teacher will use activities where the children can develop an awareness of their bodies, physical skills and creativity. The activities are simple and can be done in a spirit of enjoyment.

Required Health Forms

  • Current Immunization Form- Request this by phone from your pediatrician; they will inform you if you need an appointment. We will need an updated Blue Card immunization form.
  • Current Student Health Form (Yellow Sheet)- Request this by phone from your pediatrician; they will inform you if you need an appointment. The state has recently updated this form and there is a parent section on the back that must be completed as well as signed a parent.

Before School Care

We offer Before School Care from 8:00-9:00 am in the event that parents needs to drop off their child earlier than 9:00 in the morning. We are unable to accept drop-ins at any time.

Stay & Play

We offer an extended day program from 1:00-2:30 called "Stay & Play!" It will be available for ALL ages! If you are interested in having your child "Stay & Play," sign-up is a one-time event for the school year. Please see the front office if you need to modify. We do offer a drop-in opportunity since we have staff available in the afternoons.

It is our prayer that your child will grow in many ways through our program. God helps us to grow mentally, physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. In Luke 2:52 it says “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

We look forward to connecting with all of you as we work together to foster the best year for your child! Our heart’s desire is to love you and your family as Christ loves you! Thank you for giving us the wonderful privilege of serving you and your precious family!!!!

‘We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.’ I Thessalonians 2:8
