And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and with people.
Luke 2:52

November 2017

Dear CBK Parents,

Two of my favorite times of the year are Thanksgiving and Christmas for a few reasons such as cooler weather, family get-togethers and remembering all the wonderful blessings God has graciously bestowed on me. I am sure you can relate! God is so good ~ ALL THE TIME! It reminds me of our mission statement ~ Connect with God and Others!

Many children attend Before School Care as well as Stay & Play or After School. Therefore, this minimizes your opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher since you are not here at drop-off and pick-up. We try diligently to stay connected with you through email, text messages, phone calls, newsletters, hand-written notes, etc. In the event that a teacher requests to meet with you, please make every effort to respond to that request. Studies show that when parents AND teachers work closely together, the child benefits greatly! The preschool years are the foundation of your child’s education!!! We want to see you and your child successful for years to come! We value you and your child!!

  • Many of you have probably heard that Celebration Baptist Church is serving about 100 Leon County families with school-age children who need assistance during this Thanksgiving Season. Celebration is providing the turkeys and others are filling the bags with the items listed to be served with the turkey. Please see your child’s teacher who has a class sign-up list. We would also like to invite you and your family to join us for the CBC Family Night of Thanksgiving on Sunday, November 19th at 5:00 in the worship center.

Our big event in November is our Thanksgiving Feast for the three, four & five year olds on Friday, November 17 from 12:15-1:00 in the gymnasium. This building is adjacent to our new preschool building. We encourage all the families to come & eat a Chick Fil A lunch with their child. You may sign up to purchase a lunch for $7 in their rooms. There will be an envelope provided for you on their pick-up table. Even the ones & twos will to do a little something special in their classrooms on Thursday, November 16.

Last, but not least, please make plans to attend our December CBK event on Thursday, December 7 at 12:00-1:00 in the worship center. This year we are doing something that we haven’t tried in many years. All our CBK children will be singing in our Christmas program entitled ‘A Christmas Celebration’ and there will be a short reception in front of the Broom Tree Café following the program. Parents of ones and twos, we are specifically requesting that you sit in the balcony so that you can see them well and take pictures as well as keep them from seeing you. If they see you, there is a high probability it will upset them.

We have so many blessings that the LORD has given us! I am so thankful for all the staff, families & children that God has brought to Celebration! It is a wonderful place to be every day!

Psalm 100:4 ~ Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.

Psalm 95:2-3 ~ Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.

    Many Thanksgiving Blessings,

About CBK

Celebration Baptist Kinderschool uses "WEE Learn" which stands for Weekday Early Education. This Christian material uses preschool centers to promote the child's development in all areas. The purpose of this guide is to provide a framework on which teachers can build an early childhood program that allows children to grow and develop as Jesus did... "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature; and in favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52) We use an additional curriculum called ABC Jesus Loves me. Parents and teachers may also join their page on Facebook as well as utilize their webpage for additional resources. The curriculum for the Kindergarten program is multi-faceted. The ABeka curriculum is used to teach Reading, Phonics, Social Studies, Handwriting, and Science. The math curriculum we use is Saxon Math. A computer lab with age appropriate computer software also enhances the curriculum.

Chapel Time

Chapel Time is provided for the four and five year olds and is located in the Broom Tree Cafe on Mondays with our Children's Pastor Tommy Hendricks. We learn Bible stories that relate to the monthly themes being taught in each classroom as well as our Sunday school curriculum. We sing praise songs while "signing' them and we learn to pray together. This is a special time for everyone. Parents are always welcome to join us at 12:10 in the Broom Tree Café.

Music, Movement, and Media

Every week the three, four and five year olds will have Special Area. This is where the children will participate in extracurricular activities like Bible, Art and Science, Music and Movement, Physical Education and Library/Media. Music is a great teaching tool for children. All the classes will use music as a learning tool. During the Special Area time, the teacher will be using instruments, CDs and other fun ways to appreciate music. For all other ages, music time will be incorporated into their classroom schedule. Each class will use movement as a gross motor learning tool. Also during Special Area, the teacher will use activities where the children can develop an awareness of their bodies, physical skills and creativity. The activities are simple and can be done in a spirit of enjoyment.

Required Health Forms

  • Current Immunization Form- Request this by phone from your pediatrician; they will inform you if you need an appointment. We will need an updated Blue Card immunization form.
  • Current Student Health Form (Yellow Sheet)- Request this by phone from your pediatrician; they will inform you if you need an appointment. The state has recently updated this form and there is a parent section on the back that must be completed as well as signed a parent.

Before School Care

We offer Before School Care from 8:00-9:00 am in the event that parents needs to drop off their child earlier than 9:00 in the morning. We are unable to accept drop-ins at any time.

Stay & Play

We offer an extended day program from 1:00-2:30 called "Stay & Play!" It will be available for ALL ages! If you are interested in having your child "Stay & Play," sign-up is a one-time event for the school year. Please see the front office if you need to modify. We do offer a drop-in opportunity since we have staff available in the afternoons.

It is our prayer that your child will grow in many ways through our program. God helps us to grow mentally, physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. In Luke 2:52 it says “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

We look forward to connecting with all of you as we work together to foster the best year for your child! Our heart’s desire is to love you and your family as Christ loves you! Thank you for giving us the wonderful privilege of serving you and your precious family!!!!

‘We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.’ I Thessalonians 2:8
